My June Mood Board: Pinks, spritz season & all things France

Welcome to June! I am fresh off my honeymoon (and wedding), which I will recap later, but I wanted to get my mood board out for the start of the month!

All things in bloom!

France was in full bloom and I was so inspired by the pink and red flowers on full display. I’m excited to play around with bright pinks and reds in my own make-up. Who else is stoked about the new Haus Labs Color Fuse Glass Blush Balm Stick?! The colors alone have me drooling. I want them all but my eyes are currently on the Glassy Pitaya shade (the brightest pink obviously!).

We did a perfume tour in a small village called Eze at Fragonard where they make perfume, skincare, soaps and lotions. They sell their products all over the country but everything for sale in the factory was made fresh in house. And by fresh I mean fresh flowers everywhere! The place smelled amazing. Their scent of the season was Lilac (ironically my color palette for May), but they explained how they utilize flowers and herbs from different regions to make their different products. Floral mood all around. It was also super cool to see how they make everything- I pictured some of it below, you can see where they start the process with the flowers!

French Girl Skincare

Although I loved our time in Paris, a lot of my inspo for this month was from our time in the South of France. We were in Provence and Cannes. The views were stunning, the fashion was amazing, and the wine was the best. With it being so warm there SPF was so important. I have been using Kosas Dream Beam SPF forever and it definitely came in handy throughout the trip. I, of course, became obsessed with all things French skincare and came back with a huge haul to make sure my skin is summer ready. I bought Avene’s tinted SPF at a Pharmacie in Paris to give me a nice tinted glow without extra foundation. I will definitely post about my other finds soon!!

I was so inspired by the access to great skincare and the less is more makeup vibe for summer. You don’t want heavy makeup and foundation while laying by the pool! My mood for June: hydrating skincare, tinted SPF, bright blush and glossy lips.

In Paris, I was able to checkout Typology Paris. A skincare brand that makes skincare and makeup products with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, Vitamin C and Squalene. You can do a skin diagnostic online and figure out what products would be best for your skin type/needs. I ended up buying their glow drops and lip oil, and I love them! They ship to the US so I definitely plan on exploring more of their products throughout the summer.

Other Hot Products:

Last month I talked about bronzing drops and that trend is still carrying it’s way through summer. I ended up buying Saie’s Glowy Super Gel Lightweight Dewy Highlighter in Sunglow and I LOVE it. You can wear it as a base for your makeup or replace it from your usual foundation. I have been putting it on and then putting my blush, highlighter and concealer over it. It gives your skin a great bronzed glow. They just released their own bronzer too that I am VERY excited to try!

There has been a lot of buzz about Victoria Beckham’s makeup line and I have been eyeing some products on her website. Who else is excited for bright colors?! I am looking at the Longwear Eyeshadow Sticks and Satin Kajal Liner for fun summer eyes.

Sweets & Spritzes

I ate my weight in macaroons in France. They are one of my favorite sweet treats. Again, the colorful array of macaroons was right up my alley with this month’s color palette. Every macaroon I had was amazing. My favorites were a caramel one I had at Carette in Paris and an almond one I had at Laduree in a village in Provence called Gordes. I might have to do a macaroon ranking post!

After we left Paris my martini count was unfortunately low. Being in wine country, there wasn’t a huge need for cocktails. The warm weather was definitely calling for spritzes though! I love an aperol spritz but we had some other fun ones too! Hugo Spritzes are a big thing in Cannes. They are made with St. Germain, elderflower liqueur, prosecco, soda water and mint. Sooo refreshing. I definitely plan on chilling by the pool with a spritz this month and the rest of summer. Spritz season is here!

Wrapping it all up…

So that’s my June… for now. Excited to see what the month brings and for summer to begin to unfold. I will continue to share my wedding and honeymoon insights, maybe with an aperol spritz in hand! What makeup trends are you most excited for this month?
