Happy Meg Ryan season! For those of you that don’t know me well, I am a huge rom com girl. You’ve Got Mail and When Harry Met Sally are two of my favorites. They also scream fall. To me, Meg Ryan kind of symbolizes the season. I especially love her fashion in those movies. I plan on embracing my inner Meg these next couple months.

It’s time for a fresh month and a new mood board. I know I keep saying this but I can’t believe we have entered the heart of fall. My husband and I began the season in Michigan with some friends and it was crazy to see the leaves already changing. As much as I will miss summer, I am excited for the coziness of the coming months. What are you most excited for this month? I have a couple trips this month, both to two cities I have never been to: Seattle and New Orleans. So pumped to go to both. I feel like Seattle will be perfect for bringing out my inner Meg Ryan (hopefully you know the movie reference, haha).

I already wrote about some upcoming trends for fall but I wanted to recap some of my favorite makeup products I tried last month and how I am embracing a cozy, fall vibe in my makeup!

Grab Your Pumpkin Spice Latte

I don’t mean the literal drink (although you can do that too!). The “latte” makeup look is the thing for fall. Warm brown tones mixed in with some reds and oranges are taking over all aspects of makeup. I am absolutely loving maroon and brown blushes! I have talked so much about Rhode’s Pocket Blushes and I have been using the “Toasted Teddy” shade non-stop. Honestly if you buy one makeup product this season buy this blush. It blends perfectly with any skin tone and it is a great “blonzing” product. What is “blonzing” you ask? It’s using one product for your bronzer and blush. You want to use a warmer tone that could work for both aspects of your makeup routine. Reds and browns are great for this.

Rhode isn’t the only brand with some beautiful fall colors. Rare Beauty released an “Only Murders In the Building” blush and lip trio based off Selena Gomez’s character that has some super pretty fall shades. In addition, their new, limited edition Blush and Luminize Trio is also perfect for fall.

I have mentioned how obsessed I have been with Fenty Beauty’s new Gloss Bomb Stix; it’s still my fav lip product right now. The shades Sp’Ice Cold and Hot Chocolit are two different brown shades that pair perfectly with the colder weather.

The Effortless Look:

The no-makeup makeup look is still a trend for fall, only instead of looking beachy-effortless, we are going Sunday Football-effortless. Okay, I totally just made that up but you get the idea. Here’s how I’m doing no-makeup makeup for fall:

  • Tinted SPF: Obviously this is an essential regardless of the season. I love tinted SPF’s because they cover up any blemishes and blend in beautifully with the skin. I recently tried some of the sunscreens from Supergoop! and I really liked the Glowscreen Sunscreen in the shade Sunrise. It provides a tint and a little bit of a shimmer which helps to give your skin a nice glow!
  • Concealer: I am a huge fan of the Tower28 Swipe All-Over Hydrating Serum Concealer. It blends into the skin really well and conceals blemishes perfectly. I recently got a new concealer in my Ipsy Box from Keys Soulcare that I also love! It works as a 2 in 1 skin tint and concealer. It’s great if you want a little more coverage for your face.
  • Blonze: Shouldn’t be a shocker that blonzing is a part of my easy makeup look. I actually use the blush stick not just on my cheeks but also on my eye lids instead of doing a bunch of eye shadow. You can also add some color to your lips with whatever product you’re using. I know I mentioned Rare Beauty and Rhode’s blushes. I also love Haus Labs Color Fuse Longwear Hydrating Glassy Lip + Cheek Blush Balm Stick in Glassy Watermelon for a stunning ruby shade!
  • Mascara: I have a couple go-to mascaras as of late. Tower28’s tubing mascara elongates the lashes and doesn’t give off a super dramatic look. For a drug store mascara, I love the new Lash Sensational Firework Mascara from Maybelline. This is honestly just as good as some of the higher end mascaras and half the price.
  • Setting powder: Kosas recently launched three new shades of their Cloud Set Baked Setting & Smoothing Talc-Free Vegan Powder: a pink, a peach and a yellow. Depending on your skin tone, one of these colors will not only set makeup, but also brighten the under eye. I wear the pink shade (Candy) and I absolutely love it. I usually don’t like looking too “baked” but I see a huge difference in how my makeup sets and brightens the under eye!
  • Lip: The no makeup makeup look goes one of two ways for me when it comes to lips. I either go for a simple, hydrating lip gloss like the Tower28 Lip Jelly in Cashew or Maybelline Lifter Gloss in Sweetheart. For a subtle lipstick my go-to is always Pillow Talk from Charlotte Tilbury. I love the medium shade.

Time for Pumpkin Patches & Old Fashioneds:

To sum it up, my October mood is cozy with a little spice. I’m ready for all the fall activities and indulging in a warm beverage. You guys know I’m a martini girl but I do love the occasional whiskey drink as the leaves change. What’s your go-to fall beverage?

I hope you are as excited for fall and all the hot new beauty trends as I am! Between the warmer, “latte” tones and effortless looks, there’s a lot you can do with your makeup this fall. Which products are catching your eye right now?
